Fincastle County, Virginia was created in 1772 from Botetourt County and abolished in 1776. It was divided into Montgomery, Washington and Kentucky Counties.
Pittsylvania County, Virginia was formed in 1767 from Halifax County. In 1777 the western part became Henry County.
Dillon Blevins was born about 1750 in Virginia. He was the son of Daniel Blevins.
He married Ann Armstrong in 1770 in Pittsylvania (later Henry) County, Virginia.
They moved to Sullivan County, Tennessee.

In 1796, Dillon was in Sullivan County, Tennessee.
In 1806, Dillon and John Carter sold John Humphreys and John Johnson 415 acres on the Doe River. The Doe River is a tributary of the Watauga River.
In October, 1810, their daughter, Catherine's husband, John Carter divorced her. He claimed she was unfaithful
the evil, loose, and idle practice of his said wife. [He] sought and found her in the bed and apparently in the embraces of another man, and also at different times with different persons.
He stated that he could
prove that she made her elopement with one Cullin Arp, to the the Moabbeal (Mobile) or Tombigbey (Tombigbee) settlement, sometime in the month of March last (1810), from which place she has never returned.
About 1814, Armstead deserted his family. His wife, Keturah, filed for divorce.
Dillon died in 1836 in Alabama.
East Tennessee is part of Appalachia. At the end of the French and Indian War, colonists began drifting into the area. In 1769, they first settled along the Watauga River. During the Revolution, the Overmountain Men defeated British loyalists at the Battle of Kings Mountain. The State of Franklin was formed in the 1780s, but never admitted to the Union.

conveys land, all messuage, tenement, tract or parcel of land with the appurtences on the south side of Smith River adjoining the other lands of said William Graves purchased of the said Blevins containing 116 acres by patent granted Charles Harris.
Joins a corner oak of Edmund Gray & Company on Smith River thence up the River as it meanders unto Randloph & Company.
